This is for :icon3d-asuarus:'s steampunk contest

The bird has a boiler (that copper thing) in its chest that powers all of the pistons that move its bones...the steam is controled by the green circuit board and its vacuum tubes and communicates with the controllers via the red wires...

Its bones are made of titanium, it has gold and silver feathers and it has golden eggs :p


All modeled with Blender 3d (in about 5 hours)
but those tree branches came from Vue 7, imported into blender for processing....

Special thanks goes to =moniqueamber for giving me the nest idea

Rendered with maxwell in like 14 hours :D

I'll get that whole wireframe thing up soon ish

Hmm, interesting concept. I like your explanation of how it all works and goes together. However, for a steampunk entry, I think it's a little too chrome. Of course, that's my personal interpretation of steampunk, but I never expect it to look shiny and new.

Some little evidences of steam would have been a fun addition, too. Overall, though, definitely not a bad entry.
